Practice and Approach

My experience and intial training in eating disorders began with an early career working on an inpatient and day treatment hospital unit. After a few years of providing therapy to families and in groups, I transitioned to an outpatient eating disorder facility that allowed me to provide groups, individual, and family therapy. I have utilitzed evidenced based practicies and continue to be exposed to new information and research in the field. I am a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist through IAEDP, and continue to maintain my certification through continuing eating disorder education. I believe the therapy starts at where the client is at during the time they enter therapy. My responsibilities as a therapist are to provide education about what type of therapy could be beneficial to helping their specific eating disorder.

My Clients

I see clients who present with eating disorders and/or disordered eating and often may have other issues (anxiety, perfectionism, depression, trauma) creating some distress in their life. My practice also addresses athletes with eating disorders and I utilize a SEES (Safe Exercise at Every Sport) approach in working with a team approach. In addition, I work with parent/s of children with eating disorders to provide support and education.
