Practice and Approach

Laurie is a non-diet registered dietitian specializing in eating disorder treatment, disordered eating, and recovery-focused nutrition. Her practice is grounded in compassion, evidence-based care, and deep respect for each individual’s lived experience with food and body.

Laurie takes a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach that supports healing from chronic dieting, body dissatisfaction, and the harms of diet culture. Rather than emphasizing weight or restrictive food rules, she helps clients rebuild trust in their bodies, make peace with food, and develop a more mindful, flexible, and intuitive relationship with eating.

Her work is guided by the principles of Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size® (HAES®), and a trauma-informed, client-centered philosophy. Laurie believes that sustainable nourishment and well-being stem from curiosity, self-compassion, and gengle exploration- not guilt or judgment.

In her work, Laurie collaborates closely with clients and, when appropriate, their multidisciplinary treatment teams to address nutritional needs while considering the emotional, behavioral, and physiological aspects of eating. Whether supporting nutritional rehabilitation, normalizing eating patterms, or fostering body trust, Laurie strives to create a safe and supportive environment that empowers each client’s recovery and growth.
